As well as creating Moritz and Epidor unpasteurized beers, at our micro-brewery we also use the surplus produce to make biscuits, cosmetics and bread. Come in and we will explain.

Beer bagasse biscuits
In the last few years, we have changed the meaning of the verb maridar, or to couple. Ok, we admit we are responsible for this. But be warned, the recipe for the Demasié biscuits containing beer bagasse takes this concept to a whole new level. In fact, this residue rises from the malts once the macerating of the beer is over, and may be kept in the fridge for a week. Traditionally it had been used for baking bread, and now we make the most beer-like biscuits in the world.
It is often said that beer is liquid bread, but this is even truer in this case. One may find Epidor bread at the Fàbrica Moritz Barcelona's Triticum bakery, which is made, as its name indicates, using Moritz's Epidor beer.
To make it, Xevi Ramon's team create a natural yeast containing Epidor, Caravienne Malt, grain and malt and wheat flour. The dough is made from wheat flour, Epidor beer and the beer's natural yeast, and then left to ferment on linen canvases for a full night. The final step is to bake the bread in the Fábrica Moritz Barcelona's M-Store oven.
This is how we obtain bread with aromas reminiscent of malt and beer, delicious!
This is not new, a good number of our grandmothers probably remember this product as being their very first facial mask used for their beauty treatments, a way of obtaining terse skin. In fact, its use goes back all the way to Egypt in 1555, where references of its curative effects have been documented.
But, what benefits does this yeast provide our skin with? As well as providing a feeling of immediate freshness, it reduces skin irritation, acne, impurities and helps wounds heal.
Having soft skin thanks to natural exfoliation. This is what you will achieve by using the Hermanos Sabater Moritz hop soap, which may be found at the M-Store.
We have seen that hop is highly beneficial, but presented in a granulated texture, as well as achieving a peeling effect, it leaves our skin feeling soft and free of imperfections.
Xavier Mor cocoa and malt drink
Don't be put off by the packaging! Inside you will find only cocoa to prepare hot chocolate with water or milk, depending on the consumer's preference. The differentiating feature is that of the Moritz beer malt, which is rich in carbohydrates, minerals and vitamins. Its high iron and amino-acid content makes this unique cocoa a highly recommended drink for when we are feeling low on energy.
