Conversations, first dates, lunches, work meetings, anniversaries, parties... all these things and many more have taken place over the course of 90 years at Bar Velódromo, one of the city's most emblematic venues celebrating its 90th anniversary. To commemorate it, at Moritz, we wanted to pay tribute in the best way we know how, with a beer in its honor that captures the essence of one of Barcelona's historic bars.

La Velo de Moritz is an unfiltered Saison beer, aromatically complex yet easy to drink and very, very refreshing. Golden yellow in color with a generous white foam, it has aromas of banana, black pepper, and grains. Sweet and dry to taste with a slight bitterness from the hops.

Ingredients:

Water, barley malt (extra pale and vienna), dark wheat malt, hops (Eureka, Strisselspalt and Amarillo) and Moritz ale yeast.

 

Taste / Tasting Note:

Type: Saison.

Degree of alcohol: 6% vol.

Bitterness: 25 IBUS.

Color: 10 EBC .

Foam: White, abundant.

Effervescence: High.

Aroma: Black pepper and banana stand out, accompanied by a slight background aroma of grains.

Body: Light.

Aftertaste: Dry, bitter, and refreshing.

Serving temperature: 6 ºC.

Flavor: Complex. With notes of fruits, spices, citrus, and yeast.

Cup: Tulip.

 

Pairing:

Ideal for dishes with a base of fresh herbs and citrus such as salmon with dill and lemon. It will pair very well with salads, especially those with arugula and lamb's lettuce, and with dishes with a light spiciness.
